Thunder crashes as though trying to drown out your orders as you douse all the lights on your ship and try to disappear in the storm. �HARD TO PORT� you scream �AND LOCK THE WHEEL, WE WILL DISSAPEAR AND COME ROUND BEHIND THEM.� Rocked from your feet as the second cannon ball hits you survey the damage hoping beyond all hope that you have not been crippled before the battle can really get started. The wood creaks loudly as the wind and waves push it in opposite directions and she starts to shift in the water. All the lights have finally been put out and you order a cease fire on all guns so you don�t give away your position as you circle your prey. Smiling to yourself, you bring your ship around. Your enemy seems content to fire at the empty ocean where you once were and she is easy to see with the constant cannon fire. �WE WILL BE ON HER SOON MEN. MAKE READY.� You keep your cannons stowed and make ready for close quarters. A new ship will compensate you for the inconvenience and loss of sleep if you can take her intact. The sound of steel ringing against steel is nearly drowned out by the storm and visibility is zero but your men are well trained and know their jobs. This should be short. No one would rationally pick this weather for combat trade or pleasure. But being rational has nothing to do with piracy. With your cutlass between your teeth your survey the unfolding carnage below as arc of lightning outlines your silhouette amongst the rigging. Holding the rope in your hands, you fly down from the sails. No one this day will be spared from your blade. Write the story yourself as you command a ship, trade with merchants and conquer all those who oppose you as a PIRATE OF THE DARK SEAS..
